IT Administrator

An IT Administrator is required to join the Strategic Business Unit of a large International company based in the South of the Island.

The main function of this role is to provide corrective 1st and 2nd line support to the end users and to carry out preventative maintenance on the systems.

Main duties will include

  • Carrying out operational activities on a daily / weekly / monthly basis
  • Take ownership of incidents, support calls and requests for services, progressing them from acknowledgement and logging call onto the system to resolution
  • Provide administrative support to Oracle databases and Linux Servers
  • Provide administrative support to MS Windows Update Services and manage the distributions of updates and notified releases
  • To ensure that IT Compliance standard are maintained
  • Invoke escalations to 3rd line support whilst continuing to assist them until call is resolved
  • Assist in the maintenance and generation of all technical systems documentation
  • Assist in conducting disaster  recovery and fallout procedures
  • Performing Risk analysis as required and proposing associated mitigation
  • Join the on call  out of hours  roster one week in 5

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • A good knowledge of TCP / IP Protocols
  • A good knowledge of Windows / Linux Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of SQL Language
  • Fluent English
  • Ability to analyse problems and trouble shoot
  • Diligent and meticulous to detail
  • Clean Driving Licence
